We will engage smaller, rural communities (population<25,000) in The Great Plains by building on current programming and activities at Langston University and other partner universities to include education and resources related to stormwater management best-management practices.
Many of these communities need a knowledge base and resources for revival and growth and to increase sustainable stormwater management capabilities; therefore, technical assistance will be prioritized to these communities.
Programs will be organized with partnering universities and satellite campuses to organize and deliver outreach events. By utilizing learning resources such as Moodle Boxes and small-scale demonstrations, we will inform communities about the importance of effective and resilient stormwater management strategies.
